Desmond Simmons played with Colin Newman and Rob Gotobed of WIRE in the Repetitive Stoats, and subsequently recorded with them
He also toured with Colin and Rob as Soft Option as well as performing on the bonus tracks of the WIRE 154 album. After his own band Amorphons disbanded, Desmond recorded his solo album Alone on Penguin Island, produced by Graham Lewis and Bruce Gilbert of WIRE, and released on their Dome label.
